Bocciolone Antincendio was founded in 1898 and has been awarded the title of historical company by the Italian Chamber of Commerce.
Bocciolone is today a solid and expanding company with Italian head and heart but with a global focus.
Bocciolone develops and manufactures components for firefighting installations and hose systems. We are a leading Italian manufacturer for civil and industrial installations with a long tradition of manufacturing in Italy.
Over the years we have improved and increased our production capacity to offer a complete range of accessories for firefighting equipment such as hose systems, pillar and underground hydrants, nozzles, marine equipment, sprinkler alarm valves, and couplings following different national standards.
In 2019 the relevant acquisition of Rack System took place, and in 2024 we further strengthened our position with the acquisition of SACOP. Today we own some important brands in this business field (Bocciolone, Rigef, Rack System and SACOP).
Our production plants are all established in Italy, allowing us to ensure real compliance with the quality standards imposed not only by international regulations but also by specific corporate choices. Control is effective and monitored in-house on 100% of the production process.
The production facilities are located in Piemonte, between Milan and Turin, and here our strategies are defined, involving business agreements in Europe and other countries.
Economic growth, technological development, pursuit of quality, ongoing research, project design activities, and a strong presence in European markets are the key elements that have guided and still guide Bocciolone’s policies today.
Our ability to research, invest in processes and develop unique state-of-the-art solutions in a world of ever-evolving expertise makes clear our true “Made in Italy” spirit that pervades everything we do towards new future goals.

Our history

Registration at the local Chamber of commerce. Bocciolone starts up in Valduggia. The founder of the Company, Basilio Bocciolone, is a coppersmith specialized in manufacturing copper still for coffee machines and distillation process.
The company attends its first exhibition in Biella and receives the certificate of participation still visible today in the showroom of the company. The company suffers a decline during the second world war.
After the second world war the son of the founder, Aldo, enhances his father business. He begins the production of the fire nozzle in copper based on a manual process starting from the manual bending of copper sheets followed by a welding operation, to get a tapered section of the pipe.
A further enhancement of the activity comes from the ability of the daughter of Aldo, Caterina. After the sudden death of the father she buys a modern swaging machine to start the serial production of the copper fire nozzle to get the tapered pipe directly from the commercial copper tube without welding operation anymore.
For reason of space Bocciolone moves to the new bigger factory in Valduggia.
Bocciolone is awarded by the local Chamber of Commerce with the gold medal for 72 years of activity. The company buys new machines and expands the production range to satisfy the demand of the growing firefighting market: valves, couplings, hose systems are an example of the new items which Bocciolone develops and manufactures.
The privately-owned company Bocciolone Aldo becomes a stock company. The husband of Caterina, Dario Galletti, lawyer, helps Caterina to reorganize the Company. He follows directly the administration and the selling network. A further extension of the factory increases the building size to 4.000 sqm.
The sons Paolo e Stefano Galletti join the parents in the management of the company. The company starts his export activity participating international exhibitions and developing agreements all over Europe. The Company sits at Italian and European technical committees to draw up the new European standards for firefighting equipment.
During celebration of 100 years of activity the new headquarter is inaugurated to satisfy growing production needs. The 8000 sqm of covered premises for offices, larger production area for machining centers, assembly and testing, are located in the new industrial area of Varallo. Here Bocciolone opens the cast iron division to manufacture pillar and underground hydrants. During this year the whole company moves to the new site.
Bocciolone achieves the prestigious ISO Quality certification 9002 and few years later the extension to ISO 9001 following a positive assessment carried out by CSI.
Bocciolone buys a new facility nearby of 3000 sqm to open the steel division. In this factory the new automatic production line can produce up to 50.000 cabinets per year.
Bocciolone achieves CE marking for products under Construction Product Directive.
Bocciolone acquires an important competitor, RIGEF and buys a new building of 3000 sqm to better manage the storehouse of raw materials.
Bocciolone invests in renewable energy by installing on the roof of the headquarters a photovoltaic system of 200 KW.
Bocciolone is awarded historical company by Italian Chamber of Commerce. In the same year Bocciolone is reported as “innovative company” by Italian Chamber of Commerce thanks to ongoing research and advanced design activities.
The Bocciolone image is renewed with a new organization and high efficiency production concepts. Stefano Galletti becomes CEO of the company.
Bocciolone starts a digital revolution of the company. New machine lines are integrated to MES and MRP systems enabling smart automation technology of the whole production process.
Acquisition of another strategic competitor Rack System takes place. This step is relevant in terms of completing the production range that the company can offer, considering Rack system is specialized in manufacturing of plastic products and fire extinguishers. In the meantime, the photovoltaic plant is extended to 400 Kw.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Bocciolone Antincendio S.p.A., as a strategic business for the country, continued its fire protection equipment production while also contributing to the fight against the spread of the virus. Part of its production was adapted to the design and manufacture of products useful to the community, such as protective sneeze guards, sanitizer dispenser stands, signage, and more.
At the same time, strict safety protocols were implemented, allowing employees to work in safe and reassuring conditions, with no cases of infection recorded within the company.
Bocciolone Antincendio S.p.A. planned the relocation of its headquarters from Varallo to Romagnano Sesia, near the motorway junction between the A26 (Genoa–Gravellona) and the A4 (Turin–Milan).
A 60,000-square-meter site was acquired, including a 22,500-square-meter industrial building to be renovated.
Bocciolone Antincendio S.p.A. moved into its new facility, designed with advanced sustainable building standards focused on full decarbonization and reduced energy consumption. The site is powered in part by a nearly 1 MWp photovoltaic system and equipped with cutting-edge technologies, including DALI lighting and a KNX building automation system by Schneider Electric.
Its subsidiary Rack System also completed the acquisition of Sacop, a historic leader in smoke control and fire protection systems.
